Diamond Head is a luxury area with many waterfront homes and is often grouped together with the Kahala neighborhood due to the proximity and the fact that Diamond Head road turns into Kahala Avenue. It is named after the famous Diamond Head Volcanic cone known to Hawaiians as Le'ahi because the shape of the Ridgeline resembles the shape of a tuna's dorsal fin.
